Throwing Caps in the Air

As much as I wanted to do the action of my blog entry title here, I wasn't able to. We weren't allowed. I guess it's only on movies (or on the photo below) that I see this happening. :-/

Anyway...

Hurray to the fresh graduates!
You're done with the studying chapter of your life! (unless, you're gonna go for MA/MS).
It's time for job huntings and job interviews. Good luck! You're now facing the real world. :)

As for me, I am 2 slash 2 1/2 years away from my own graduation in college.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Earlier I saw our box of photos and went through it. And I found my own graduation photos. Hehe. It's fun reliving the moments of my graduations. I've gone through 2 graduations, Grade School and High School. And here are my photos. :) Be the judge of the differences/similarities between the present me and the past me. Hehe. :)
HS Grad
GS Grad

I know it's kinda late for a grad-congratulation post. But hey, I still feel it, and it's not really late for the Seniors in my univ. They are partially graduated, hehe, they've graduated clinically, but on the 26th or the 27th they will have their academic graduation. For tradition, I guess. And in two years slash two and a half years time, I will be the one marching the aisle and the stage to get my own diploma. :)

Till then, I will have to go through a lot of lectures, a lot of clinical duties and a lot of requirements plus a thesis to defend. Ooohh, challenges! :D :P

Para! MOA lang po.

Basically, this is the second of our escapades to Mall of Asia. We went there without asking permission from our parents. We're dormers anyway, and sometimes "...but what she (mom) don't know won't hurt her..." that's according to Jadyn Maria's song hehe. The best part was, this happened on a night we were supposed to be studying for our qualifying exam. But fun was way more fun than studying in our dorms. ;)

We went their because of the Earth Hour 2011. My friend wanted to celebrate it there and with a candlelit dinner (which didn't happen...sorry dear). So basically, we went there to celebrate the switching off of lights for one hour and of course to have fun! :D

We were just there at the rotunda grounds, watching people sway their candle sticks in the air and listen to a soothing-voiced female singer. I saw Marc Nelson (faint) and Rovilson Fernandez, who hosted the event very well. Just the voice would kill what more of their faces and wohoho bodies. LOL I wanted to shout "Take yer shirt off!" if it hadn't been that embarrassing and well, scandalous; too bad no pictures of them. :(

I also got the chance to see Gretchen Malalad, the reporter from ABS-CBN. I also saw how it is done, just a minute or less of reporting and it takes at least 3 takes so it'd be nice looking on TV. Funny thing was people project when the camera swings by their direction, I and my friends are hiding from it not because of embarrassment but because of we might be seen by our parents. Haha Remember? We're all sneak outs, hehe.

Gretchen Malalad reporting
After the Earth Hour we went back inside the mall to eat dinner at Friday's. Nothing much at Friday's just the usual us, stories here, banter there.

the genormous burger my friends ordered

After Friday's they bought Starbucks and we went home. Two of our friends are kinda wanted at their respective places already. At the van, still the fun continued and then subsided until everyone is sorta sleepy. I'd like to posts some of the photos of people asleep but they might kill me for letting the world see. Haha

A lot more stories in between but it would bore you if I iterate each one so I guess this is all for now folks!
Till the next chapter of my life as a college student. :)

Davao: The Eagles' Time

Before New Year's Eve, we went to see the Philippine Eagles at its sanctuary at Malagos, the foot of Mt. Apo. The Sanctuary breeds those endangered species that we have here in the Philippines like the famous Philippine Eagles, the White Bellied Sea Eagles, the Brahminy Kites and others.

We should really save our Eagles, they are endangered. It's sad because these kinds of species are beautiful and really are pride to the Filipinos yet a lot of hunters mercilessly hunt them down just to eat or make them pets. Plus we are also continuing to destroy their natural habitats hence no living place, no more breeding grounds, less new born eaglets.

Presently, there are 35 Philippine Eagles in the sanctuary; there will be an additional one coming this January 27 as a new egg will be hatched. :)

Aside from the Philippine Eagles there are other kinds of eagles in the sanctuary. Here are some of the other birds in the sanctuary.
White Bellied Sea Eagle
Eagle Owl
Brahminy Kite
There are other animals in the sanctuary like the Cappuccins, Wild Bore, Philippine Mountain Deer, etc. The Sanctuary takes care of endangered species, breeds them and tries to reintroduce them to the wild. Unfortunately, from the 4 Philippine Eagles that they have reintroduced to the wild, none of them survived. :(

After the Malagos Sanctuary, we went back to the city at Gusteau's Fud Haus and ate Crabs. Big Crabs. Yummy! We still saw them live and served to us in a very yummy way.

those are live ones

My Christmas in Davao is really a Merry Christmas, spending time with family, staying at a place that is accessible to many places, everyday pasta. Haha But hey, my weight is kind of maintained. :P The relaxed, nothing to worry about aura. Such a nice place, the only thing that is unusual to me is on New Year's Eve, it's so quiet. No one is lighting firecrackers or any pyrogenics. It's a city ordinance that it is not allowed even if it's New Year. That's why its really quiet New Year's Eve time. I'm really gonna miss Davao, I'm actually missing it now.

Things I did while in Davao...
- shopped at SM Davao
- saw the Ampatuan Mansions
- visited the Ateneo de Davao University Campuses
- rode the zip line at Outland Adventure
- visited and went on swimming at GAP Farming Resort
- saw the butterflies at Butterfly House
- saw the many crocodiles at Crocodile Park
- soared with the Philippine Eagles at Philippine Eagle Sanctuary in Malagos
- ate big crabs at Gusteau's Fud Haus
- visited the Davao Museum at Insular Village
- ate frozen yogurt at Tutti Frutti

We'll surely come back to the Land Of Promise, Davao City! Wait for our return! :D <3 :)
